Music at Church
There is a strong ministry of music at our church which can be experienced at our 10am Sunday service as well as at other Sunday evening services and other festivals and important days in the church year.
There is an enthusiastic music team that supports, and is supported by, our Priest. There is a robed choir, a music group and an informal children’s singing group. We continue to enjoy the much-loved traditional hymns sung with our wonderful organ as well as embracing the more contemporary worship songs. We are fortunate to have a near filled church each Sunday and a congregation who sing with great enthusiasm!
If, after reading about the music in our church, you would like to join any of the groups, please contact the church office who can give you more information.

The Choir
The choir is small but faithful and leads when new hymns and service settings are changed, as well as singing a hymn or easy anthem during communion. Choir practice is taken by the choir leader, often with an organist present, and is on Fridays at 7pm and lasts around 1-1.5 hours. (There is no choir practice on the Friday before the first Sunday of each month.)
On festivals, and sometimes when singing an anthem, we are augmented by a further 6-8 singers enabling us to sing in 4 parts and choose more challenging works. The choir, when required and/or asked, will also sing at weddings and funerals and at Christmastime accompany the community worship team to sing in several local nursing and residential homes. The choir also enjoy a social get together about twice a year.
