A Rocha

We have signed up to the A Rocha Eco Church survey and in April 2024 were successful in achieving the Bronze Award. We are now working towards the Silver Award.

Eco Church is a learning community of churches of all shapes and sizes and open to all denominations. It provides a framework to support churches to take practical action on caring for God’s earth, through the Eco Church survey and resources.

The survey covers five key areas of church life and helps you assess your progress towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Eco Church award:

• Worship and teaching
• Buildings and energy
• Land and nature
• Community and global engagement
• Lifestyle

Some of our work has included supporting some important global eco projects including toilet twinning, and twinning a garden in Africa. We have also created a 'Rewilding Group' who focus on how we can make best use of our churchyard to support nature. Eco Sunday Services and an Eco themed Harvest Fayre were also highlights of the previous year's work.
