Solar Generation

As part of our Eco Church activity, we have been looking at installing solar panels on the south side of the church.  The vestry roof to be precise, as they can be located there, and will be almost impossible to see from the ground.  Not only will this have a positive environmental impact and reduce the running costs for our church, it aligns with the Church of England’s 2030 Carbon Neutral initiative.  At a local level, it is a demonstrative asset that local heritage buildings, where appropriate, can be adapted to balance the future environmental needs as well as preserve the sensitive nature of these sites.

Most recently in April 2026, we were granted planning permission for the installation of Solar Panels.  The project team are working with prospective suppliers and authorities to plan the next steps.
